Learn From Your Mistakes (In 5 Minutes)

Who has time to keep a detailed journal? I used to feel guilty about not writing one, because self-reflection is important, but recently I discovered a much better way. You can do it right now, with no prior planning or preparation, and it will only take 5 minutes. This technique will last you the rest of your life. Here’s the idea:

Fire up google calendar, switch to the month view, and look at what you were doing a year ago. Think about your hopes, fears, expectations, and decisions. Put yourself in your old state of mind. Now think about the difference between what you expected and what actually happened. Take notes.

That’s it. Enjoy your growth.
